Kingston's IronKey S1000 meets the strictest of standards when it comes to security. With 256-bit AES hardware-based encryption in XTS mode, and FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validation with On-Device cryptochip trickle-key management. The memory also knows and responds to physical attempts to access the data and protects it if it happens. For extra security, the memory uses digitally-signed firmware that makes it immune to BadUSB. The memory locks out of 10 incorrect attempts to access the data, there are also choices for reformatting or destroying the memory.

The Enterprise model offers a central administration of rights for devices and users that can span thousands of IronKey devices, which is safe through an online interfrace ***. Using an acted license and available IronKey EMS from Datalocker, the memories work either with cloud-based or local servers to remotely require passwords and access policies, allowing users to access forgotten passwords, but also administrators to "discard" unused devices.
